RAM or Random Access Memory is the primary memory of the computer. It is installed on the motherboard and is used to run all the computer application. If the system is performing multiple programs or tasks then it will result in the short of working memory space on the RAM. Virtual memory is a technique used to control the overflow of RAM. It is located between the Ram and hard disk space. When the system use up all RAM, then the data is shifted to an empty space on the hard drive. The computer swaps the data to the hard disk and back to the RAM as needed. You can increase the virtual memory of the system by making some changes to the system settings.
