Setup Virtual PC
Virtual PC software can be downloaded from Microsoft official website. After the installation of this software on the system, restart the system. Now select the ‘Start’ menu and Virtual PC is available in your system. Using this software, we can run either Windows XP mode or any other guest OS. In order to create virtual machine select ‘Create a Virtual Machine Wizard’. This helps to install guest OS with basic settings. You have to specify the amount of memory required to run Virtual PC on your system.
Configuring Virtual PC Settings
After installing virtual OS with basic settings on your system, you can configure the OS according to your needs. You can configure it from ‘Virtual Machine Folder’. You can select this folder in two ways either by searching Virtual PC in the start menu or by selecting Windows Virtual PC from ‘All Programs’ from the ‘Start’ menu. In the virtual machine folder you can see the list of virtual machines installed on your system and the details such as status, name, memory and hard disk location. Select ‘Menu’ bar and there are two options: 'Open' and 'Settings'. You can select 'Settings' to configure the Virtual PC settings.
