Windows® Network Settings Set-up Issues
What issues may arise while network settings setup and configuration on Windows?
Network is the collection of the computers which are interconnected. Each of the systems in the network could be able to share the data and files between the computers. There is also sharing of resources between these systems. Wired and wireless are the two types of networks. Data transmission takes place by sending and receiving signals. You need to connect modem, router, adapter etc. in order to form a network. But, before going to connect you would make sure that these devices are problem free and compatible with the system. If there are any such issues, the network set-up settings would be interrupted.
Below given points are the tips to solve various issues with network settings setup on Windows:
- Solve connection issues
- Cannot configure Wireless network
- Issues with drivers
Solve connection issues
If there are issues with connection, that would lead to the network set-up issues in the network. You need to ensure that there are not any loose of connections. You have to check that whether the modem and the router are being connected in the right way. You need to also check that the wire is present in the right ports of the modem and the router. Then, check if there are issues with Ethernet cable and check it for any damage. You would also check that the network adapter and the router are in the good working condition. If there are such issues you would get interruption in the set up of the network.
Cannot configure Wireless network
There are situations in which Windows cannot be able to configure the wireless network. You have to take Run from Start menu and type 'ncpa.cpl' and click OK. Go to the Network Connections and would select the wireless connection. Then, you would select the Change connection settings. In the tab for the Wireless connection, you have to check the 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network'. Then try to activate the 'Wireless Zero Configuration'. For doing that, type 'SystemRoot%system32services.msc/s' and double click Wireless Zero Configuration. Then, click Automatic and choose Apply. After that in the In Service status, you have to click Start and then press OK.
You need to check whether all drivers are present for the adapter and the router are in the good working condition. Drivers are very needed for the working of the network. They are the software programs written for the working of these hardware devices. If you have installed any incompatible drivers or you are having the corrupted drivers for the network card, router or the adapter, these devices would not work at all. Thus, the network set-up becomes a failure. So, you need to check for that and install the compatible and right drivers.
