Windows 7 is the latest Operating System from Microsoft. This Operating System has succeeded Windows Vista. For enabling Windows aero theme, you need to have 128 MB of RAM, Pixel Shader 2.0, and 32 bits per pixel. The CPU also needs to be faster. A 1GHZ CPU will run the aero just fine. Aero Peek, Aero Shake, Aero Snap, Aero Flip are some of the features offered in Aero. Aero Shake is a feature in Windows 7 that might allow you to minimize all the Windows that are running except the one which you are working on. Aero Shake allows users to clear up the clutter on their screen by shaking i.e. by dragging back and forth a window of their choice with the mouse. All other windows might be minimized, while the window the user shook stays active on the screen. When the window is shaken again, they all get restored, similar to desktop preview.

Enabling Aero Theme
After you have installed the updated video drivers, you have to refresh the WEI (Windows Experience Index) Score. For doing the same, you first need to select 'Properties' in 'My Computer'. A window with system information would appear. You have to click the Performance Information and Tools at the bottom which is at the right side of the window. Then, you need to click 'Re-run the assessment', or you could also open the 'Command' prompt and type “winsat formal”. If the Windows Experience Index is being recalculated and the result is found to be higher than 3.0, the Aero in Windows 7 would be enabled.
First, type regedit in Run. You need to navigate the registry key which is HKEY_CURRENT_USER, select the folder called Software, then navigate to Microsoft, select Windows, and then you need to select DWM. Then you need to create three 32-bit entries like UseMachineCheck, Blur, and Animations in the right details pane and set their value to zero. Then you have to close the window. Then you need to type CMD with administrative Privileges from 'Start'. Then you have to type Net Stop uxsms, Net Start uxsms. After that, you would start the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager. Then you can try to enable Aero by right clicking on the desktop, then Personalize, and then Windows Colors.
The performance of the Aero theme mainly depends on the performance of the hardware used. The Aero feature needs to be installed with respect to the hardware. If the computer is an entry level computer and the processors and the configuration of the computer are not that great, better don't go for the aero theme. But with all the PCs, enabling Aero is possible.
