Movement of Microsoft® Windows® Taskbar
What are the causes of movement of Windows Taskbar?
Windows Taskbar is a feature that allows the user to access the Windows setting more quickly and easily. Using Window Taskbar, we can easily reach to Windows components, programs and system tools. Usually this taskbar is located at the bottom of the desktop. We can also customize the Taskbar. Sometime Windows Taskbar do not work properly. This is because of some changes in the settings made to the Taskbar properties. One of such serious issue is the position change of taskbar. That is taskbar moves to some other position from the normal position. This is due to changes in the properties of Taskbar. We can resolve this problem by performing lock option in properties of Taskbar. If you enable Auto Hide option in the properties of Taskbar, then you cannot locate the Taskbar in the desktop. These problems can be resolved by making appropriate changes in the settings. Restarting of the system will also resolve most of the taskbar related problems.
Following are the tips to resolve the problems with Windows taskbar movement:
- Lock the Taskbar
- Auto Hide
Lock the Taskbar
One method to resolve the taskbar movement from its normal position is by locking the taskbar. We can lock the task bar from the taskbar properties. In order to lock the taskbar, open the ‘Taskbar and Start Menu Properties’. For that right click on the ‘Start’ button and then click on ‘Properties’. This dialogue box gives you several options for Taskbar settings. In this dialogue box, there is an option to lock the Taskbar. After selecting this option, it will resolve the problems with Windows taskbar movement.
Another method to resolve the problem of moving taskbar from normal position is by restarting the computer. Most of the problems with the Taskbar can be resolved by restarting the system. After restarting the system the taskbar will be placed in the correct position. But one problem is that in order to shut down the system, we need start menu. In this case, we can restart the system by pressing Alt +Ctrl +Delete.
Sometime your taskbar is not present at its normal position and you cannot locate the Taskbar. This is because of the auto hide option enabled in the taskbar settings. Therefore you cannot locate the system Taskbar. We can restore the Taskbar from the Taskbar properties. We can disable this feature by right clicking the Taskbar, and then select the properties. Here there is an option to disable the ‘Auto Hide’ feature. After disabling this you can locate the taskbar in the desktop.
