Methods of restoring Windows® Taskbar
What are the ways to restore Windows Taskbar?
A taskbar is a type of visual interface that is found on the desktop. It will show all the applications that are running currently. The taskbar present in Windows will also have icons for the most frequently used utilities like antivirus, clock etc. Whenever you open any application, it will be displayed on the taskbar. You will also be able to switch between open programs. When you open more items on your screen, taskbar buttons might shrink a bit to make room for a new button. If you open more items with the same program, it will eventually collapse into a single taskbar button that shows a number. When you click on a taskbar button it may show multiple open items on your desktop. A taskbar consists of 'Start' button and other Windows tabs.
The different ways to restore Windows Taskbar and methods to solve the issues that arise during the process:
- Change the settings
- Turn off the Auto-Hide feature
- Methods to resolve problems
Change the settings
Open the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” and choose 'Start' and select 'Properties' from the pop-up menu that appears. Taskbar tab is divided into two sections, that are 'Taskbar Appearance' and 'Notification Area'. Then, uncheck ‘Auto-hide the Taskbar’ option which helps to prevent the taskbar from disappearing.
Turn off the Auto-Hide feature
Select 'Start' and go to 'Control Panel'. Click ‘Appearance and Personalization’ option, and from that choose ‘Taskbar and Start Menu’. Then select ‘Auto-hide the Taskbar’ check box to remove the tick mark. It will restore the taskbar to the Windows Operating System. In order to restore the taskbar to its default position you can uncheck 'Lock the Taskbar' option.
You need to remove all viruses from the system, and for that use the best antivirus program. If your taskbar disappears again, go to 'New Task' from the menu bar and enter 'explorer.exe'. First, you will need to open Task Manager by pressing 'Ctrl', 'Alt' and 'Delete' together. After doing this, you need to open Registry Editor.
